I don't know if it's useful information or not but, as far as I'm aware, Sforzando can only play a single MIDI instrument. So if you replace Coyote WT with Sforzando using the DXi/VXTi setting then you are putting it in default position, and it's likely that more is being required from it that it's capable of doing (hence the silence).
Try loading Sforzando on the single track you want it on using the "Plugins" tab on the Mixer. Load it in the left-most slot called [None] by clicking on [None] and selecting the plugin.
