Good catch, the program I have used in BIAB 2020 is VSTSynthfont NOT Synthfont. Older versions were freeware the new V3 is ~$20. The freeware version did all I needed it to do. But somehow this all changed with BIAB 2021.
Maybe it is not PGMusic's fault. Maybe the Synthfont people would not let PGMusic continue using the free VST! You might want to contact PGMusic and see what they say.
Edit - A possible workaround would be to delete BiaB 2021, install 2020, find the VSTSynthfont and all of its folders, copy them either off line or rename them, delete 2020, install 2021, then bring in the VSTSynthfont and all of its folders.
Or if you have another computer install 2020 on it and copy said VST and folders.
Usually a VST will work with any program that accepts them.

It was never free. I believe there was some arrangement between PG / VSTfont developer. I chatted with support. It seems that it is coming back to BIAB (or at least the version that was in 2020 if you had that). I was told, and if I understood correctly it is probably will be resolved in the next build. So hold your wallets at least till next patch to see where things are going with that.
Also, logic tells me that if you did have 2020 BIAB, VSTsynhtfont is for you to keep, regardless of future releases. But not sure if you started 2021 as a new user. I asked rep to clarify this on forum, so there is no confusion.

That is exactly my plan - but so many things to do and so little time. I plan on just installing a prior BIAB 2020 update over the existing BIAB 2021 - a complete deletion would be too drastic. But I will report back if that is successful.
EDIT - OK, per Rusty's comment I will hold off on this to see what comes...
The INSTALL of BIAB 2021 would (should) not have REMOVED any VSTi.dlls so it should still around wherever it was before?

The Halion Sonic SE 3.dll is located in C:\ Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\Shared Components\Halion Sonic SE.
I use it as my default GM Midi device as I have done successfully in all previous BB editions in the past. Not anymore though in BB 2021. Whenever I load the dll all I get is the following.
'Access violation at address 0000000000000000 in module 'bbw64.exe'. Execution of address 0000000000000000.'
Then BB crashes. When I reopen BB the default GM midi player goes back to Coyote, which is useless.
Please would the Staff explain why this is the case.
