I have used that same workflow in BIAB2020 - The timing delay is a setting in the menus. You have to set to 0 otherwise it adjusts itself with a delay.
Missing the first chord sounds like an old bug?
But I stopped that as soon as the BIABVST became available AND started doing this so much better.
