This was not happening in 804, but, ever since I updated to 808, this has been happening every time I drag a multi-channel all-midi file onto the Chord Area and have it render the data to the MELODY track. I looked at both notation sheets and all of the data was there but there was no sound.

Then...

A.) I swapped the MIDI and SOLOIST tracks and all multi-channel data and sound came through fine via the SOLOIST track. (Still no sound on the MELODY track)

B.) I restarted BB then I dragged the same file and had it render the data to the SOLOIST track and the same thing happened--I looked at both notation sheets and all of the data was there but there was no sound coming from the SOLOIST track.

I did the M/S swap and now all of the multi-channel data sound was coming through fine on the MELODY track.

That's when I went to Preferences/Channels and discovered that the MELODY and SOLOIST track was being set to channel zero after each "drag/drop/render" operation.

I'm working my way through "back-tracking" a series of select Theme and Variation works and etudes by several classical music composers for my students and the drag/drop operation really helps my work flow!

Please allow me to mention one more thing about the Preferences/Channels area

I have a custom channel setup saved where I've set and saved the PIANO track to channel 8. All of my channel assignments are remembered except for the PIANO.

With every program startup, the PIANO channel keeps reverting back to channel 3. Any fix on that point would be much-appreciated.

Overall... I'm really enjoying and loving BB 2021!

Thanks again for any kind attention from this wonderful community and PG Music.
