I have been a BIAB user since the days of DOS but have ran into a situation where I need some input. I purchased an UltraPAK in 2018 on USB harddrive and installed it on my laptop to run from the USB harddrive. In 2019, after talking to support at PGMUSIC, the rep said all I really needed to purchase was the plusPAK, ditto for 2020. So for 2021, I did the same thing. Santa Claus was very good to me this year and I received a *new* laptop and want to install the latest and greatest BIAB 2021.

I called support to verify the plug-n-play capability of using the USB harddrive and was told I really needed to reinstall the 2018 UltraPAK and then every PlusPAK purchased since (2019, 2020, and 2021 and all content). Support chatted this: "Since all your upgrades were PlusPAKs they require the previous version so you would have to install version 2018 first either from the hard drive or your downloads, then version 2019, then 2020 and then 2021. You can get all the content and installers from our website by logging into your account and going to "My Products""

This really seems odd to me since I run from the USB harddrive on my current laptop. It seems to me than an "upgrade" would upgrade the USB harddrive rather than install as a separate add-on.

Does anyone know if BIAB 2021 that was upgraded on the USB harddrive will work when plugged into the new laptop OR will it really require a long, time consuming downloads and reinstallation?

Anyone have any experience reinstalling WITHOUT redownloading and reinstalling as suggested by support?
