I'm sure I've seen this before but cant find it. Using Win 10, if I load any existing SGU (which still play perfectly OK on 2020 on my Win7 drive) I get a double click or maybe its a drum hit right at the end, on or after the last bar. Any ideas why and if there's a fix please? Ian

Yes, you've seen & heard this before. I don't know if it was solved or just went away.
My theory at the time was that you are hearing the first beat of the count-off as it loops. Although this is a wild guess, try making sure Looping is not on for that song.

Hi Matt The Loops box is unchecked AND also set to NEVER LOOP. Back to back test with 2020 (734) vs 2021 (808 and 809) - 2020 - it doesn't occur 2021 - it does. Ian

Hi Matt As far as I can tell its not every song. I cant yet delineate what and which ones it does it on. This is what it sounds like on the latest one - https://app.box.com/s/lcuujpwcgyafvz8b6of33wqmc1wl1v0y (its that Rumba thing I was messing with, if you recall giving me that advice.) FWIW - the same SGU on 2020 on my WIn7 drive, not updated yet to 2021, plays it fine without any clicks. Ian

Extra info - I run BB on 64bit. I just tried it on 32 bit and YES it still does it BUT rather than 2 snare hits (?) I get a snare hit and then a hihat hit. So to me its coming from the RD - but how? Ian
extra extra - I have just run the SGU in 2021 RB 64bit - NO CLICKS!

Can you share the .sgu file. In the past we would at times attribute such behavior to a corrupt .sgu file. Then it was often observed that if you ran the .sgu in RB it would fix it. Then save the .sgu from RB and open again in BIAB. Maybe....
Dan, I don’t think a long group of empty bars at the end of a song does any harm. Since having too short a number of measures does cause a problem, such as clipping a fade out, I always add many empty bars at the end. And yes, muting the drums before the end is standard practice for me after enduring the clunk problem for so long. All of my songs have this and I would never have heard this problem.

Dan - thanks for the 'fixed' SGU. Much appreciated. Like Matt says, As BB standard endings rarely give me what I want, as in this case, I often extend the number of bars so I get a good fade on the final A... and trim the c--p off in DAW. What I dont understand is that NONE of my SGUs, old or new, exhibit this problem in 2020 but some do in 2021. For testing and backup I always keep the previous years BB on a Win7 drive, the new years going on Win10 and, for fun, on the old XP drive. I'm wondering now if its an issue with shots and holds? Ian

When you select the Fade button in the screen shot above the text box is filled with 6 bars. That can be changed. You can also bypass the Fade button and enter your own choice.
I think there is not standard but more what matches the song. I heard songs that have faded over 16 bars (a complete song chorus) and fades of 2 bars.
Thanks all, these are great workrounds but it doesn't answer the question WHY 2020 plays these files perfectly and 2021 does not. For now muting the RD the bar after C... does the job but that's not the point Ian

What you are reporting is "the clunk problem". This has been a long running bug which continues to raise it head at times.
Thanks Ian for the feedback, and looking forward to a result. It does it on my main music system - but only if I am using an external hardware synth. BiaB sends out a side-stick note right at the end of the song. If I switch over to an internal VSTi, it doesn't do this. I have reported this 'right to the top', including preparing and sending a video showing the drum track on the mixer, sample song etc, but despite assurances, it has never been resolved.

Hi Trev, I hope you are keeping well And safe. Apart from the puzzle of why the SGU plays OK in 2020 but not in 2021, after dickering with the SGU it MIGHT be an RD specific issue. Just changing from the existing RD to a Rock or Pop or Nashville RD for example, there is no end click. Go back to the original one - clicks return. Best regards for Christmas. Ian
