I love chords more than any other single attribute of music. I love BIAB for allowing me to indulge my love with chords I normally don't (or can't) play easily on acoustic. This piece is full of 6ths (and their cousins, 13ths). 6ths, to me, are the somewhat happier versions of minor chords. There's a musical reason for that, I think...but regardless, that's the "emotion" that comes through for me. The style is one of the older multi-styles...something I really didn't know existed before this project started a couple of months ago. As usual, if I start to use something, I'm going to overuse it. Looking forward to the new set--multi styles #1. Listen, if you've a mind to. Comments are welcome, but not expected. Tangmo,
I enjoyed your chord journey. Your description made me pay attention to the sounds of the chord (more than usual).
The BAND sounds good. Well mixed.

Hi Tangmo ...
I agree with Floyd ... a very nice journey down "Chord Avenue".
And I agree with you about chords. For me they set the overall mood as the job of almost everything else is compliment the chordal structure.
This is a bit of an unexpected production from you - more energetic and spirited. I like it! I was particularly delighted by the the variations ... really, really nice! This is one of my very favorites from you - much enjoyed!
Take care and be safe. Have a terrific holiday season!
Alan

That is remarkably richly textured and a testimony to the power of BiaB ... in talented hands.
The chord structure is a bit above our obviously more simplistic chord paygrade but they sound wonderfully moody. Very nice.
Great mix too.
Enjoyed it!

Great work! Interesting expansion on your harmony pattern and use of the multi-style. I especially liked the start/stop nature of the track, as if it took musical breaths between hard-working sections. Enjoyed it!

Very cool composition!! I love chords too! Since I got BIAB years ago, I discovered many chords I'd never used before (2s, 6s, 9, 13, etc.), including one of my faves.....the m7b5! This is a great sounding piece!! How did you process the drums? Really BIG sound! Take care. Greg

Thanks, Floyd, Alan, Scott and Tano.
Bud and Janice. 6ths are a common vocal harmony, so it's likely Janice has sung them, even if by ear. Here's a thought. Make a copy of an older BB song and change or add 6 to every chord entered. What's the "emotion" to you? No better way to experiment than to use this great tool.
Greg, I remember finding a m7b5 on my old Casio keyboard which would try to tell you what chord you were playing when you held down more than two keys. I "heard" it in my head, sounded it out and thought I had invented something. I processed the drums by making three copies (well, two copies and the original). Then I cheated and went to Izotope Neutron and selected a different drum-kit preset for each, mostly paying attention to the EQ. One was designed to highlight the kick, one the snare and toms, the last the hi-hats and, I'm assuming, other cymbals. I found a balance between the three tracks levels that worked for me and left them alone for the most part.

Hey Tangmo,
I listened to this the other day but didn't have time to comment.
Cool stuff! Your experiments always end up being both interesting and musical.
I often use 6th chords when playing major key blues, especially for the one chord, never tried using a m6 in a minor key blues though, maybe I should.
Good to see you back here again, I've missed you and your music.
Hey, I came across Painted Son the other day, or more accurately, he came across me. Do you remember him from AP? He started following me over on SC. He has quite a few songs uploaded, haven't had a chance to give them a spin yet though.
Best to you and yours for the holidays.
