Doesn't Americana in 2020 mean "everything else"?

I agree with J3 (Again!!!) that lists are really to be taken for what they are worth. To me it's the same thing as movie reviews. Because some stuffed shirt critic in New York doesn't have the same sense of humor I do (and you all know how wicked and strange that is) he has no place to be telling me what is good and what isn't.

Just think about how 100 different people's car thumb drive may not have even 1 song in common. That's how much tastes vary, and how little lists are worth. Also why I haven't watched the Grammys or the Emmys in 25 years at least. I know what I like. I don't need someone else telling me what to like.

I WILL accept suggestions from people with musical tastes that I trust. When Mario told me about the last Tower of Power CD I got it right away. I know we like a lot of the same thing. But for "Junior in Macon" to say "These are the best songs", nope.
