Check Windows Task Manager > Performance > Disk. I suspect you will find a very high Disk I/O
Active Time being used.

Consider replacing the hard drive with a solid-state drive. Your laptop will probably love you for it. No waiting...

This is typical Disk I/O Active Time on my drives (I generally use 2 Tb SSD's)
