Hi Floyd,
very nice and emotional. Do you have an original recording of it? Would be great to listen to it.
Very nicely arranged and like always marvbellously sung. Sounds good all the way.
A healthy and most happy New Year to you and yours and take care,
Stefan Stefan - Happy New Year to you and Maha! Hoping it's a good one! We deserve it!!! Hi floyd Jane, It's a very nice song that you offer us. Lots of emotion in your voice and very well written lyrics. Well done.
Have a pleasant end of the year and take good care of yourself.
Kindly regards Derochette alias JaniJackflash
Thanks, Derochette!!

It's been a long time since I went back to the early songs. I never thought any of my earlier stuff sucked...... I guess ignorance was bliss. I've since learned a few things that I didn't know then.
I like the song. Kinda slow but you know that. It shows that you knew a good amount about song crafting even then.
I enjoyed listening. Learning what needs to go in the trash is an important part of growth in writing. Thanks for the listen. A beautiful song. It's very quiet (even though there is music, etc.) While all broken hearts hurt, some leave a very sweet aftertaste as time moves on. I love how the second last line of the stanzas are counted by the hook line. Expertly done. I like it. The band captured the mood of the song perfectly. jpt - thanks! appreciate that...

In my last post, I mentioned how many songs I've written and how many I've thrown away. As I said, I started writing when I was 14. The first song I ever "kept" came about 6 years later (1975). First time I had thought... "This doesn't totally suck." I only keep it still for the sake of nostaglia. I figured I'd throw it against the wall here. Warts and all. Beginnings. It's slow and meloncholy (my first real broken heart). A 3-verse song. Standard for the times. I quit writing 3-verse songs about 1985. So...going back 45 years... REALLY THERE'S NOTHING TO SAY the sunshine won't get out of my eyes the salt won't get out of my wounds a new woman won't get out of my mind but i'll probably make my move too soon five hundred miles from my last mistake and still it stands in my way now everything hangs on her next words but really there's nothing to say maybe she'll love me, maybe she won't maybe i don't even care maybe i'll find what i'm looking for or maybe it couldn't be there but every fool needs somebody who can help him forget yesterday so maybe i'll use my usual lines but really there's nothing to say i might tell the story of why i am here how a broken heart lead the way but a stronger man would have made his stand i just walked away so i'll spare you the details and myself the pain of a woman who's that far away perhaps i should write i thought that i might but really there's nothing to say five hundred miles from my last mistake and still it stands in my way now everything hangs on her next words but really there's nothing to say really there's nothing to say The BAND: RealTracks in style: 366:Bass, Electric, Country Ev 065 RealTracks in style: ~364:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev 065 RealTracks in song: ~2200:Guitar, Nylon, Background CountryBrent Ev 085 RealTracks in song: ~~369:Pedal Steel, Background Ev 065 MIDI SuperTracks in song: 2066:Piano, Rhythm NewAgeAnswers Ev16 110 Harmonies generated using TC Helicon plugin in RealBand But, really...You can say something if you feel like it... Thanks for listening. fj Very nice song, also great vocal color. Happy New Year guys

What this proves is that you always have been and outstanding song writer, arranger, and musician.
Excellent work as usual. I didn't hear the original but this version is fantastic.

Floyd this is a beauty, loved it from start to finish Thanks, Graham. Came back to hear the stripped-down version. I like it a lot. But I think a really good song will speak for itself as long as the arrangement and mix are anywhere near decent. This song does, indeed, speak for itself. And for the writer.
Alan Alan - thanks for the return visit Hi floyD you are very gifted indeed so young to write like that. great choice of instruments mixed perfect thanks for sharing this song Eric Thanks, Eric. Good of you to stop by....

Well, this may have been written when you were 20 or so but it will hang with anyone. The Beatles were not writing craft level songs or lyrics and some of their best product was 'mistakes' when they were writing in their early 20's...
Really enjoyed the history, arrangement, production and performance on this.

Both your maturity and sensitivity shine on that tune. Beautifully written and executed. The vocals and guitar blend so well together. Technically solid as well. It was a great listen, thank you! Angelo - thanks for the great comments! FJ, Excellent resurrection. Sad and beautiful ballad. Listens as it was written yesterday. You kept the spirit of it very well for nearly half a century. Good stuff. Really There's Nothing More To Say... except for your description of the track. You meant this to rhyme, right? :
"I only keep it still for the sake of nostalgia. I figured I'd throw it against the wall here. Warts and all. Beginnings. It's slow and melancholy (my first real broken heart). A 3-verse song. Standard for the times. I quit writing 3-verse songs about 1985."
Thank you for sharing.
Misha. HA! Thanks, Misha!! Nice to know this still "holds up" after all this time...
