I was in London last weekend for a concert at the O2 Arena (formerly known as the Millennium Dome) 'Elvis Presley In Concert', with the original musicians from the TCB Band, The Sweet Sensations backing vocals group, The Imperials and a full orchestra. As it happens, I have met the TCB Band members and The Sweet Inspirations here in Vienna when they made a concert with one of the local Elvis tribute singers (Dennis Jale)

The show's concept is to present an authentic Elvis Presley concert. The producers have edited together a collection of Elvis' finest concert performances that exist on film and video and removed all sound from the footage except for Elvis' vocal track. The Elvis footage is projected on state-of-the-art video screens. On stage, singers and a 16-piece orchestra perform live in sync with Elvis on video. All music heard in the concert production is performed live. Elvis concert footage for the show comes primarily from the MGM concert films Elvis, That's The Way It Is (1970) and Elvis on Tour (1972); outtakes from these two films as seen in the video package entitled Elvis, The Lost Performances; and the historic 1973 global television special Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii, via Satellite. This footage contains some of Elvis' finest performances from the concert era of his career.

There were 3 screens on stage - one main and 2 side screens. The main screen was the most interesting as they had managed to include some footage somehow that made Elvis (in his white jumpsuit) look like he was life size and wandering about at the back of the stage between songs. The music was excellent and it worked really well so, if you get a chance to see this and haven't, go!
