1. Instead of 'Silence,' I wish the Audio Editor permitted 'Mute' so that the wave form could still be seen but rendered non-destructively inoperable. That would permit better editing functionality with the ability to also relocate sections without losing track of where they were originally positioned.
2. The editing tool 'Amplify' is misleading as it also permits reducing the gain. What is lacking is a 'revert' function to restore the audio to the original level. If you remember later the value you have increased or decreased a selection you can enter the opposite value, but that value doesn't always come to mind. If there were a 'revert' function then you always could start over from a position congruent with the entire file.
3. I wish looping permitted (and maybe it does but I don't know how to do it?)in the Loop window selecting sections of the loop. I have 8 and 16 bar loops where I'd like to use the later sections of the loops as the start.

Three wishes in one!
For the first item, yes, a non-destructive Mute would be an excellent improvement.

For the second item, 'Gain' might be a better term than Amplify, but this might still be considered subjective by some users.
The Revert concept is definitely a good suggestion.

Yes, I suggested to have a volume envelope points so any section/s can be set non destructively vol up/vol down/volume fade/volume mute.
