CAVERNI got away from harmony and mode explorations with this little number and decided to focus on rhythm. Indeed, I just went with the ubiquitous four-chord pop loop--I V vi IV. I'm hardly an expert in pop production, but I hope I at least lean against it here. The end is a bit "harmony" experimental, however. This was created out of two instances of the main "style". While I kept that funk ONE strong, I alternated the other three beats in the main sections with different iterations of 1/8 and 1/16 pushes (^ and ^^) and then brought them together in DAW. This juxtaposition is most apparent when the guitars come in, panned wide L&R, but it's there in some of the piano and bass, and all of the synth lines. As experiments go, this one was a lot of fun. I used a lot of more modern mix/production techniques (primarily additive production) and lots of cuts and sliding. The "mix" is uneven to my ears, but I was playing with so many new tools, it's not likely I can make modest changes without massive effort. This whole effort is inspired by a comment I left on a YouTube video a while back to the effect that all you crazy live-playing cats will be back, and we'll be there. That's some pretty nice experimenting! I love to play around in BIAB's many toys - lots of fun. And sometimes something decent comes from my messing around. Your experimenting produced a real nice listen! I liked the contrast of the modern loops with a somewhat more traditional jazz sax. Very nice work on the entire project! The two parts work very nicely together. Your work paid off quite nicely.
The only thing about the new loops is that they have a lot of high EQ sometimes. But, that's kinda what's working these days.

I got away from harmony and mode explorations with this little number and decided to focus on rhythm.
To me, rhythm is the soul of a song. Allowing it to become an afterthought is perhaps the biggest reason why so many great chord progressions fail to stir excitement in the minds of the listener. Your choice to focus on the groove here shows just how intriguing even the most common 4 chord progression can sound when it is wrapped around a good groove. Nice!

Messing around with BiaB can be a lot of fun. This one highlights that. Super groove and sax all mixed with the perfect backing tracks and expertly produced.

I yanked the piece from SoundCloud, but am unable to edit the OP, so I apologize for any confusion.
While it maybe wasn't a great choice for this forum, I'm happy to report it was well-received by friends and family--old and young, near and far. I hope to write a lyric soon and, though I can't plan to sing it, present it here again as a "song".
Or maybe not. Life, and stuff.
In the meantime, I just want to listen for a while with my minutes and not feel like I'm playing [*****] for tat, quid pro quo, R=R, or one of those other games like tic-tac-toe or hang-man.
