I’ve not put anything up for a while so thought I’d add this one that I finished recently, which was my 8th using BIAB. I wanted to turn an old acoustic ballad I wrote about 15 years ago into a 3 minute Blondie late 70’s type rocker. Lyric Video & MP3: https://www.djhsongs.co.uk/osl-idontmindI used the _ ANARCHY style and the Realtracks used were: 2592:Bass, Electric, RockPickedA-B Ev 165 ~690:Organ, B3, Background Pop Ev 165 2585:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PunkHeldPlus Ev 165 2583:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Punk Ev 165 2586:Guitar, Electric, Soloist PunkMurray Ev 165 RealDrums PunkCrash: a: Snare, Kickb: Snare Crash N A 646 Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopRockBritEdgy Ev 120 (A arp) I did quite a bit of editing mainly to get what I think is the Clem Burke style of drumming, and found the singer Angela via the Fivver web site. Really pleased with the end result – thanks BIAB Cheers, David I DON’T MIND AT ALL Well don't pretend it's me you want When we know that that's not true I'm just filling time until you find A love that's right for you I don't mind at all, I don't mind, no I don't mind I don't mind at all I loved you from the day we met I knew you were the one Even though you made it show You thought that I was wrong I don't mind at all, I don't mind, no I don't mind I don't mind at all You're looking for someone To give you everything you want Your every dream, hope, desire You're looking for someone To give you all that you want And set your heart and world on fire Why can't it be me Why can't it be me I could give you all of your dreams I could give you all that you need I could give you all that you want If you'd only let me be Let me be the one (I want you to love me, I'd love you to want me) I could give you all that you need I could give you all of your dreams I could give you all that you want If you'd only let me be Let me be the one

Wow! That is a rocker! I just had it blasting out on the big speakers here during my lunch break. Very very nice job on the drums. A fine vocal performance. Looking forward to hearing more like this

WOW! David, this is very much to my liking! Rock on!
Not only did you do all the right stuff with BIAB to make the song exciting, but your choice to use FIVVER to acquire some kick @$$ female vocals was spot-on! I can't think of a single change that would make this better. No wait, I'd like it better if it was MY song... but that doesn't count. This is all you, my friend! Good job! MORE, please!

That's good. I enjoyed it. You certainly got the Blondie feel for the song. Your choice of singer is pretty close too.
Yep.... That's a nice rocker

Loved it! I was just listening to Heart of Glass a couple of days before I heard this. This son g totally rocks! Your music tracks really shine. And your singer knocked it out of the park. Sounds pro quality to me. That's some great 70's / 80s sounds. You did a fantastic job. Still smiling as I type this. Congrats on a really nice song. Best to you.

That has lots of bounce and life. A couple of things I notice - the vocal level is down on the 1st few syllables of the song...it'd be worth bring them up to increased the impact. The backing harmony vocal/counter melody is a bit airy, way off on it's own & quiet...at 1st I thought my wife was talking to me. After replaying that section and focusing it began to take my attention away from the main vocal. I reckon you should experiment with other placements and levels...maybe just 20% off centre so that it relates to the main a little better. The Terrific job editing the guitar solo parts and the drums - cool song.

ROCK!! Solid. Good arrangement and well-written, David. Good choice of singer, too. I'd like to hear the vocals a bit more up front, but you may have it just perfect for the style.

Definitely late 70s. Definitely Blondie-esque. The vocalist you hired is the perfect fit for this song. I'm going to have to use Fivver some time to hear some one else sing one of my songs.

This is one kick@ss rocker! Super backing tracks and mix. That singer is dynamite! She really nailed this. Outstanding job with those drums!

Thank you so much for listening and the great feedback - I have made a couple of changes as suggested to the .mp3 file version at the link www.djhsongs.co.uk/osl-idontmind.Wow! That is a rocker! I just had it blasting out on the big speakers here during my lunch break. Very very nice job on the drums. A fine vocal performance. Looking forward to hearing more like this Thanks Marty, hopefully you didn't get indigestion :-) I'd certainly like to do at least another one in this style with the same singer in the not too distant future.
Thanks Pat, Fivver is great - I did advertise for a Blondie style singer with this one and Angela was easily the best out of the 12 - 15 or so responses I got. I'm hoping to get a Leonard Cohen sounding singer next so hopefully Fiverr will deliver again. That's such a compliment, thank you :-) Nailed the Blondie Vibe!
Well done.
moto Thanks Captain, mission accomplished :-) That's good. I enjoyed it. You certainly got the Blondie feel for the song. Your choice of singer is pretty close too.
Yep.... That's a nice rocker Thanks Herb, really glad you enjoyed it. Excellent tune. Super vocal. Loved the intro. Well done Thanks Scott, the original ballad version didn't have an intro so it's great that this one just seems to work. Boy, now that is Rock & Roll, and it does sound like Blondie!! Fantastic!! Thanks Ronnie, that's great to hear, much appreciated.
Alan Thanks Alan, it did take a bit of time but was definitely worth it - and I too am smiling, thanks :-) That has lots of bounce and life. Thanks Rayc, I have now adjusted the backing vocal as suggested. I also went back to the original vocal file and used the compressor in Audacity instead of Reaper which I think has helped the level. I'm pretty pleased with the editing but so thankful for the sounds to work with :-) ROCK!! Solid. Good arrangement and well-written, David. Good choice of singer, too. I'd like to hear the vocals a bit more up front, but you may have it just perfect for the style. Thanks Marty, I have nudged the vocal up a tad as well as the compression. very good vocallist. best. muso. Thanks Muso, she's Italian though I don't think you can tell from her singing voice. Nice rocker I enjoyed the build and big finish. Josie Thanks Josie, I did ponder a fade out initially but fortunately decided against it. Yep - you have every right to be pleased with this. Everything about this sounds good - vocals, arrangement, mix. Fun listen! Thanks David, it's great to get confirmation from other musicians - pride before a fall and all that :-) Definitely late 70s. Definitely Blondie-esque. The vocalist you hired is the perfect fit for this song. I'm going to have to use Fivver some time to hear some one else sing one of my songs. Thanks Ezekiel, you should definitely give it a go, there's some great singers on there and there's nothing like hearing your song brought to life by someone else - if it works! I've had mainly good experiences though. This is one kick@ss rocker! Super backing tracks and mix. That singer is dynamite! She really nailed this. Outstanding job with those drums! Thanks Mario, glad you liked it. I was a drummer originally so I like to think I can still get into that mindset :-) Many thanks again for listening, All the best, David
