I saw this yesterday too - it is absolutely devastating news. Hearing Chick on B****es Brew in high school flipped a switch in my head - it was one of the first times I connected with jazz music. People talk about Chick as a jazz fusion pioneer, which he certainly was, but his earlier work in avant-garde and free jazz is sometimes overlooked. Turkish Women at the Bath with Pete La Roca and his trio album Now He Sings, Now He Sobs are absolutely amazing. I recommend to everyone here to watch his Tiny Desk Concert from 2016 with vibraphonist Gary Burton, if they haven't already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15IHNYq6stw&feature=youtu.be&ab_channel=NPRMusicSeeing this level of virtuosity and freedom in improvisation is inspiring and still blows my mind whenever I listen to it. R.I.P. Chick Corea.
