OK, so I am on a PC. There a some significant differences as I understand, but I would not have any details. But 6/8 is doable via a couple options. Best of which is find a style which uses triplets over a 4/4 to get the best results. You should be able to use the Style picker to search for 6/8 which will find the triplets styles.
Alt-F5 is Chord Settings, does the Mac not have that???
