I was a bit disappointed that you left the stage at 1.49 hoping that you would return for a final chorus but hey , this is not the Grammys. Enjoyable listen.

I think it's your vocals in your song that bring me back to the old days!
I see a campfire somewhere, but also an old saloon. Maybe I have seen to much of these cowboy movies.

The reason why songs like this one are often described as 'spirituals is because they certainly do arouse feelings of peace, unearthly stillness, and a sense of the presence of Our Creator in our spirits. Your voice is clear and straightforward in its delivery of the inspiration I believe you feel when sing these songs. I think of you as a messenger of sorts on this forum, and I look forward to listening to what you have to say in your music.

One of my favorite spirituals.
I'm used to hearing it as an medium tempo song, so it was nice to hear it in a slower, more meditative style. I though the setting you picked worked really well.

Thanks, bluage. When I first entered this field, Beautiful River and Blessed Assurance were two that I'd listened to all my life, but never really heard. Is it not true that the river has an earthly and spirit meaning? When people look down on some of the modern worship songs, I sometimes feel like asking, "Have an idea of what services must have been like in the 1830's?"
