Yeah, I think that's more a function of getting used to people overusing Autotune (guilty!), although I think Synthesizer V also sounds better than Vocaloid.

I've heard some Synthesizer V songs that have managed to be emotional and expressive. So there's certainly capability for the singing to be more expressive. That's something worth exploring a bit more.
