Hi, Bob. I never intend to read the review, so I won't get into discussion much, but Jakob said:

That seems perfectly fair of the reviewer to note, and it addresses your complaint. It makes it clear he was talking about the included sound sucking, not the program itself. It also hints that he did give it a go with other sounds to be sure of his point.

You have a point yourself about the TTS-1 (another elderly Roland softsynth which is not much good any longer). It must mean something that many BiaB people have bought cheap Cakewalk programs to get the crummy TTS-1, since it's at least better than the VSC.
