"without specific drivers..." Bluetooth? If yes, most likely it would not work with windows Ble (bluetooth )driver, unless of course you use official CME dongle. If you have Wired connection, it should connect as a midi device. If I remember correctly, you do have to "turn it on", I think just pluging it to PC would put it in charging mode (if it is Bluetooth model) BIAB or not BIAB....
