Hi the nice biab members,
Lords of war
Soundtrack created from Biab Vst.

Method used
Choice of chords in Biab Vst (Bpm 140 - key C)
With selection of warm pad. Import of full chords with C1. Import of the midi warm pad file. Putting several orchestral vsts on full chords. Lengthening of the duration of several chords to allow to add on some notes chords with electro sounds. Reinforcement of some notes by vst brass. and ornamental vsts. (bell, choirs). Search in the lines of drums realtracks the rhythmic break parts in Vst Biab. Extraction of the best suited midi parts. Putting vst orchestral drums on these parts (timpani and others). There is no real melody. This is more of an Epic surround soundtrack.

Vst used
8dio rythmic: electro sounds
Symphobia: symphony orchestra and truestrike for drums
Eastwest choirs and bells

Your opinions bring me a lot in the way I compose. Even if it is a completely atypical style compared to the most represented styles. Thank you in advance for your comments.

Derochette,

Extraordinary.

An excellent musical soundscape. Nice use of all the tools you are using.
The combination of synths and strings is really well done. The drums sound great. The overall sound is huge.

And an excellent mix.

I don't know if you are "getting better", but I can say I am being more and more impressed with each of your new posts.

Extraordinary.

That is dead on target for what you wanted.

Very impressive soundscape.

I love those big, fat, nasty, bass synths... That ending was sweet.

I also loved how you drove it along nicely throughout with the arppegiated synth.

So many nice things popping in and out. It went a long way towards keeping me interested in seeing what was coming up next.

Describe, if you don't mind, the part BB has played in this. If I understand correctly, you're saying that the pad and drums are from BB. Is that correct?

That East/West stuff is pretty amazing stuff. I've got it in my Sonar DAW.... along with miraslav and a few other goodies. I don't often get a chance to use it. Maybe it's time to go play with the synths again.

Great job!

Hi floyd jane,

I'm really glad you came by and enjoyed this soundtrack. A priori, I hesitated to put it down because it is very rhythmic and moves away from the styles of this platform, but I am trying to show that we can use biab in another way. Biab is really a tool of creativity as well in the vst which one can put (orchestral or electro) as in the midi lines of the realtracks which one can shape in its way. Another big thank you for your charming comment.

Hi Guitarhacker,

Thanks for dropping by and commenting. To answer a question, I specify that I mainly use the biab vst. On the drums level, I select one of the real tracks (often rock style) I import the midi file into my daw and I locate on the line the faster passages that might interest me. I cut them out and I delete the rest of the midi line. I then select one or more vst of orchestral drums (timpani, snare drum etc.) with lower tones. For violins, viola and celli, I often start from the midi chord line (importer by C1), I then cut out the chords in certain places or I go up an octave in certain chords. On the other hand, if I work with others as a hot pad or the midi file of a realtrack (ex quarted strings) I add, I modify or I remove certain elements from the midi line. For the ornaments, it's simple I reinforce certain notes by doubling them with several vst instruments. Thank you again for your comment.

Love this style of music. You have an incredible way of putting your music together. Song sound so big and full. My studio again was just full of all different textures and colors. Not just audible masterpiece but closing ones eyes I can see a visual one as well...

Hi Scott C,
Thank you for this nice compliment. When I compose I often start from a theme that I have set and from that I imagine the scenes to be represented orchestrally. I also thank you for your comment on soundcloud.

Hi BlueAttitude,

You reassure me because I was initially worried that this style might not meet the preferences of the Biab platform. And that the mix leaves something to be desired, thank you for your charming comment.

Really top notch stuff going on here. Your mix is extremely well done. and the composition is very engaging.

Are you using BIAB to write your chord progression?

Hi Derochette,

Quite impressive, that 'majestic' song of yours!
Looks very complicated to make it. Not only the composition, but more the mixing of it all!
But I enjoyed listening to it, sometimes a bit breathless, because of all what happens in the song.
Very well done,
Hans

Derochette,
Wow-big, bold and dramatic ( as the title suggests),you create amazing soundscapes which
stretch my concept of what digital music can do.
Cinematically I hear the battle for Middle-earth fused with sci-fi!
Excellent work.

Hi gruverider,

To mix I use Ozone9. For those who do not know, it may be interesting to take the trial version which allows you to test this software. For each of my soundtracks I always start from Biabvst to create my chords. But also all the drums were extracted from the midi files of realtracks drums in which I extracted the more rhythmic breaks on which I used vst orchestral drums (timpani, Toms and snare). Thanks for listening to my soundtrack and commenting.

Bravo maestro bravo! It was like Tangerine Dream meets the London Philharmonic. Very powerful bold music. Outstanding percussion! This is your best to date! Loved it.

PS those East-West Symphonic Choirs are nice!

Hi MarioD,

It's super nice your comment on my atypical style. But I think I should, in the future, deposit more compositions in the usual Biab styles that better meet the expectations of the members of this musical platform. Thank you again for your nice comment.

Hi, Derochette.

That was a lot of fun listen to! smile

I wasn't sure the arpeggiated figure would hold my interest through the whole soundtrack, but it did.

It reminded me of John Carpenter's soundtracks, which is also good.

I don't think you need to be hesitant about posting this music here. BiaB is an integral part of your composition process.

I don't know about others, but whenever I write to someone that a song isn't what I "expected" or not "typical" for them, I don't mean that as a criticism! We all think we know what can be done with BiaB. Posting different things gets us to think outside the box.

So please: keep posting "atypical" songs! laugh

Derochette,
Pretty complex epic theme tune you got going. I think you did a grand job on overall arrangement and composition. Keep me curious to the end. I agree with David above about arping and I think that drumroll that intersects with that arp is a bit too long. I think if you use it less densly it would sound more fluid. Thank you for sharing.

Derochette,

Very cool soundtrack . . . versatile as an accompaniment to a lot of genres, certainly an action oriented movie, short or other video. It has a tense, on-edge feel to it; could work well in a lot of settings. You’ve found your niche for sure . . . you do these really, really well. Great work!

All my best,

Deej
