Essentially, I'm understanding that you want to overlap the held chord while new music starts on the following bar?
One way to do this would be to record the song with the held chord and no music following (no next verse) and save to an audio track, then add the section containing the next verese. The audio track should play along with the other tracks.
You may need to experiment a little. Others may know more and have better suggestions.
