Update: I got it solved finally. See the summary in the fourth post.

Hi, In the past I have been able to enter notes in the soloist track and have them play back. So later I started putting a real track in there. All of a sudden I want to remove that real track and have it go back to a track to be used for note entry. So I went into track actions and erased the real track and midi data then I entered some notes and I get no sound for those notes. I even went in and selected midi piano for the track and get no sound. The midi melody track is sounding so it can't be a midi driver issue. Does anyone know What I have missed here?

Actually I tried switching the Real track out with a midi track and it won't even do that.

So I tried creating a brand new BIAB song file from scratch. I entered notes in the soloist track and it sounded them fine. I switched midi instruments and they still sound properly. If I switch to a real track that appears to be the problem I can't switch back. But also the solo real track is not sounding on the brand new file which is new to me because I have been able to switch to real track and get it to play as stated above.

This has all come about because I am trying to help a friend in our jam club who I got to buy BIAB :-) It is forcing me to learn it better :-)

Thanks,
John
