This song pops! From the first note to the last, it's pure excitement. yes, different from your usual but a real nice change. Full of energy and non-stop fun! Great job. The mix is strong and really moves the song along. Take care. Alan Thanks Alan for kindly commenting Glad you felt the energy, I wanted to bring that forward. Janne

This is my favourite of your songs. The ska bounce and pace juxtaposed with the dark humour of the lyric and the ultimate optimism works for me. I'm not keen on the harmonica, solo or female vocal but they are peripheral. Excellent. Thanks Ray for your very nice comment I'm glad to hear it is your favourite, maybe it is closer to your musical style. I added those instruments you mentioned just for fun, playing with BIAB, I agree that they are not necessary for the mood. Janne

Hi Janne! It's great to see you again. Gawd!!!!! My headphones are flopping on the side my head all out of breath right now. That was extraordinary listening. You've certainly moved into new areas of music since I last heard you! I thoroughly enjoyed where you took me. Thanks for a literally "Breathtaking" journey All the best, Noel

Wow, was this ever fun. Great lyrics arranged in couplets and delivered with expert rhythm. Upbeat and oddly funny with a wonderful dark humor. The band is stellar and the harmonica is a terrific part. Much enjoyed.

Robert said, "there's no time to blink in this- a tumble of thoughts with a keen self deprecating humour. I enjoyed bopping and listening closely to your zany musical life reflections!" That is a great thoughtful summary of your song. Janice was literally dancing around the studio -- you'd have to see it to believe it. Bud is used to it BiaB + talent + genre exploration yields some fascinating productions and this is certainly one. A different path but we enjoyed your little journey! J&B Thanks Janice and Bud for enjoying and giving such a nice summary I surely would like to see Janice dancing, hope you capture it on video some day BIAB is definitely a very creative tool and without it, I would probably doing something else than music. Janne

Original song both in the lyrics and the arrangement chosen. The choirs go well. It's pleasant and fun. Well done

Janne, Wow! Really fun tune. Composition is brilliant. Instrument choices are very magnetic. Lyrics are super! Reminded me of a band Sublime, but much more positive. Liked it. Thank you for sharing! Misha. Thanks Misha for your highly heartwarming words Listened now to Sublime, I think I've never heard of them before, thanks for the reference. Janne

Thanks Tangmo for your upbeat feedback Glad you found the fun and humor in the lyrics, they have served their purpose I like that harmonica too, not all BIAB harmonicas work well with my song, but this one was a working one. That was different. Those lyrics... Uhhhh, I hope not from personal experience.
Cool groove to the song.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Janne,
Yes, very different from anything I’ve heard from you. Musically, it’s an absolute blast—wow, what a mix—so much fun to listen to. I would have liked that vocal to resonate a bit more in the mix, particularly given all those great lines in the lyric. But absent having the lyrics before them to read, I don’t think a listener would pick them up. But, boy, what some great touches on that production. Love those little spots of gospel choir in the background—genius! Contrary to rayc’s opinion, which I greatly respect, I like the harmonica here. Really ambitious, wonderfully envisioned, creative and adventurous tune. Impressive work!
All my best to you,
Deej

Cool groove to the song. Thanks Herb, I appreciate your nice comment Sure there is personal experience inspiring the lyrics but definitely almost nothing included in those words Janne

Deej Thanks Deej for your very nice review and those wonderful words like envisioned and adventurous I agree what you say about mixing the vocals, always difficult task for me when I try to hide defects in my voice... The gospel choir RTs in BIAB are great, but they don't work all the time, so I usually use only the best parts. I'm glad you liked the parts I used Janne
