Hi Mario,
A simple and effective video editor is VideoPad by NCH which is free for non commercial use.
Any video imported will be placed on the video track and the audio extracted and placed on the audio track.
The audio can then be un-linked from the video with a right click command, then the audio can be split cut moved etc and effects added if needed.

I also use video pad as described. I think after a while it becomes no longer free so i purchased it. Don asked me to help with this but I found the size of the files impossible to work with. Yes, I am using video pad. If I have to purchase it to help Don then I will. I have no problem with the file size. I am using the free minitool utube downloader to get the files: https://youtubedownload.minitool.com/
