For these two tracks I used BIAB to establish the song structure - experimenting with chords, tempo and time signatures as well as the song format. I also used it as backing while I worked out the melody etc. In the recording nothing remains of the original BIAB tracks as I elected to play all the parts myself except for the drums which are EZdrummer. Not really the usual BIAB process but I'm finding this works for me quite well...

Blue Planet Blues
This track is basically a blues although I experimented with some different chords. I wrote it so I could try out my new wah pedal. Don't you love new toys?

Still Waters
RayC once asked if I used the Gilmour Amplitube preset. Guess what. The new version of Amplitube (5) now has a Gilmour preset! I love it.

While your guitar was gently weeping, I was enjoying every moment. Great track.

New toys are great - especially if you know how to use them.

And you clearly do.

I enjoyed listening to both tracks. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Always enjoy hearing you play, Chris. This is no exception... Nice!

A great melodic sense to your playing. Nice subtle touch with the wah. Cool backing, well mixed.

Excellent.

Cool.
I'm a huge wah fan but a very poor wah user.
I think you had too much reverb in the intro giving some phrases, later on as well, a lost in the wah throat sound.
There's a LOT of mids in this bass, organ, reverb and guitar filling it up and making it a little muddy.
The organ is very cool.
Your playing is very expressive.
I enjoyed it.
Still Waters is cool - nice pun too. I wasn't fussed on the very clicky/thwacky kick though.

ha ha, you are the only person so far to pick up on the pun Ray...

Listening back I see what you mean about the kick. Maybe I will adjust that one of these days...

That filled my brain quickly!
Chris,
Excellent space age blues! Nice composition and excellent playing, especially that wild guitar!
I think drums are peaking a little, but I might be wrong. Thank you for sharing.

Love Misha's "space age blues" ... yeah!

The are both anthemic -- a stadium filling sound (had to put the KRK's back on the shelf after first bar smile )

Well played indeed and we like the slight ethereal edge to it all.

Now that was a listening pleasure, both tracks. I especially love the climactic ending in Blue Planet Blues. You are definitely the master of your axe.
