A lot of the advice is good but the presenter doesn't understand why some of it works.

Interesting that, while discouraging the use of an SM58 due to sibilance, he's holding a cheap RØDE. Yea, right… one mic was designed for preamp circuitry that's been obsolete for over 50 years while the other is just poorly designed.

So, of course, one needs a De-esser. With the right mics, no, not really except for singers with terrible technique.
