The PG Music forum site has several forums that are a great encouragement. The Showcase and of course the songwriter forum as well, are great places to get encouragement. Ultimately, it's you who has to set down and start writing. You can find others here, using the various tools PG music provides to create new music. You can find musical collaborators and folks willing to provide live instrumental parts and vocals, and you can find folks to write with. All you have to do is ask.

Another site.... and this comes with an explanation as it is a subscription based service.... TAXI. Taxi is a subscription site for those who wish to try placing songs into film and TV. Your results may vary. However, the forums and the listings are free to look at. Join the forums and enroll in the email listings. Find the genre you like and enjoy writing, look at the listings in that category, pick one that looks good and write for it using ALL of the parameters they give. The fun part is when they give a DUE DATE that's only a few days away. You have 2 or 3 days to write and record your song. It's a challenge to get it done in time. If you want to follow the game to it's conclusion, the song has to be radio ready. Something that has the quality to go into a film or on the radio "as is" when you are done.

Aside from those 2 things... there are a number of musician and songwriter communities out there on the net. I was very active in the original Cakewalk forums and met a lot of really talented writers and musicians. I also participated in a few virtual bands during my time there. That was fun, but believe it or not, it actually had the same kind of drama I've experienced in a few bands I played clubs with. Yeah... go figure.

Look around and you can find the inspiration to write.
