I guess I will title this problem: Oh why, oh why, oh why
Here is what I have. See if you can duplicate it and is there a work around.
The synopsis of this is that I do not want a drum beat on measures 1a and 2a. They need to start on 3a.
This problem presents itself on every style I have tried with RealTracks so far, about 15 of them, however I will use _CORDIAL.STY as an example.
1. Load the style _CORDIAL.STY Cordial Bouncy EZ Jazz 2. Load the associated DEMO SONG 3. Now go in and replace the 1st chord (G) with a G...b at measure 1a 4. Replace the 2nd chord (G#dim) with a G#dim...b at measure 2a 5. Go to measure 1a and press F5 and MUTE the drum track on measure 1A 6. Go to measure 3a and press F5 and BACK TO NORMAL the drum track on measure 3A
When you generate the song, it will play perfectly as I want it do play. Hold the chord when starting, keep the bass playing and kill the drum beat on measures 1a & 2a. Everything returns to normal in measure 3a
HOWEVER, the audible count-in also gets muted if the drums are muted in measure 1. The visual count-in is OK.
If I DON'T mute the drum in 1a & 3a,I get a nasty drum hit, which I don't want at all. I know I can just cut the drum hit out in the DAW but I would like to know why the count-in goes away in this scenario.
If I don't mute the drums in measure 1a, I get the drum hit in measure 1a, which I don't want - but the count in works fine.
If I mute the drums in measure 1a, the drum hit is muted, which I want, but the count-in is also muted which I need.
Thoughts other then editing in the DAW?

Until the fix is released, you'll find it's much faster and easier to edit the two bars of the drum track in BIAB Audio Editor. It takes about one minute.
• RIGHT CLICK ON UTILITY 1 TRACK AND CHOOSE, “CHOUSE REAL DRUMS”. THE DROPDOWN WILL SHOW THE HILIGHTED SELECTION WHICH WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY THE MAIN “DRUM REAL TRACK” ALREADY PART OF THE STLYE OR SUBSEQUENT SELECTION. HIT “OK”. SO NOW LET IT RESIDE AS YOUR MAIN DRUM TRACK FOR YOUR PROJECT. • NOW GOTO YOUR MAIN DRUM TRACK BEING NOW THE SAME REALTRAK YOU WERE USING BEFORE YOU POPULATED THE UTILITY’S TRACK WITH IT’S DUPLICATE. NOW RIGHT CLICK ON THE DEFAULT DRUM TRACK WHICH SHOULD BE “DRUMS 1” AND THE POP UP MENU SHOULD HAVE IN IT ABOUT MID WAYS DOWN A SELECTION CALLED “FORCE DRUMS TRACK TO MIDI”. THE FOLLOWING IS VERY IMPORTANT…THE “DRUMS 1” TRACK WILL NOT TURN TO THE YELLOW MIDI TRACK COLOR UNTIL YOU PRESS “GENERATE AND PLAY” THEN IT WILL TURN YELLOW AND THAT CONFIRMS THAT THE TRACK IS NOW “MIDI”. • THEN GOTO THE FIRST BAR OF SONG AND RIGHT CLICK. GOTO BAR SETTINGS IN POP UP AND TRACE DOWN TO “DRUMS 1”. THEN ON IT’S POP UP, CHOOSE “MUTE” • NOW THE “DRUMS 1” TRACK IS NOW YOUR “COUNT IN”! NOTE: YOU CAN ADJUST THE VOLUME ON THE DRUM 1, COUNT IN TRACK WITH THE LEVEL FADER. ALSO, COUPLED WITH THE COUNT IN VOLUME FOR THE NEW UTILITY TRACK YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A SUITABLE COUNT IN VOLUME WITH SOME CONTROL!
If you follow these steps without skipping, this is a solution! I worked hard over the years to come up with this. Pgmusic should write code for a dedicated Count-In Track!
