This is driving me nuts. For years, I have used BIAB to record myself playing heads and blowing choruses on tunes. Recently, I am experiencing horrible sync problems. It doesn't matter if I use ASIO, WAS or MME. I have a MOTU 2 (actually two of them and have tried both.) I've uninstalled, cleaned out the registry and RE-installed, changed \BBW drives for the program as well as the tunes.
Sync is fine in Real Band, but that has a lot more steps for a quick-and-dirty record / playback. Also, the Audio will not erase via normal menu commands. Does anyone know where the temporary .WAV files are stored until the file is saved?

Sync is fine in Real Band, but that has a lot more steps for a quick-and-dirty record / playback. Also, the Audio will not erase via normal menu commands. Does anyone know where the temporary .WAV files are stored until the file is saved? Temp files in RB are stored wherever you have it assigned in Prefs-Audio tab. There is a temp audio directory setting. I have no idea in BiaB, but you had mentioned RB so thought I'd mention the answer. RB is supposed to clean this directory up when it closes, so if yours isn't cleaning up it could be a permissions issue on the directory.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

I'm trying to avoid having to go to RB for this function. It is SO easy in BIAB (when it works) to record, change styles, tempos, etc. It's really 50% of what I use BIAB for and the fact that it has stopped working and I can get no support is very distressing.

Does anyone know where the temporary .WAV files are stored until the file is saved? I assume you are asking about the BIAB wav recordings. These would generally be in the very same directory as the BIAB file and with the same name as the BIAB file name (.wav). I have used BIAB to record myself playing heads and blowing choruses on tunes. Recently, I am experiencing horrible sync problems. It doesn't matter if I use ASIO, WAS or MME. I have a MOTU 2 Are you recording live playing via a mic with the MOTU. I have a MOTU also and could do a test if needed to see If I can record live vocals or guitar via the MOTU ASIO if that would help.

Latency problem
I use BB 2021, build 813, 64 bit, on a WIN 10 Laptop
My Midi driver output is set to a Roland Mobile Studio Canvas SD-50, which seems to require a driver latency of 104
In order to record my guitar on the BB audio track, I have set the input to a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2. I connect my electric guitar directly to the 2i2.
My Audio Driver Type drop down menu is set to: MME. After recording and during playback of my recorded guitar track is out of sync with the instruments I have chosen in my BB file, probably due to the afore mentioned driver latency.
Any suggestions?
Tonnie

have you got the BIAB track right and finished? then record the output of the roland as an audio track, mute the BIAB original tracks, use the asio drivers for the focusrite and record your guitar. should stop any latency problems whatsoever.
alternatively, unless the sounds of the roland are what you want and nothing else, download the free TTS1 soft synth with cakewalk (see Peter Gannon's no brainer post). The TTS1 is another name for the Edirol Hypercavas which is roland sounds.
Use the TTS1 for your midi sounds and it should not need latency adjustment at all - mine doesn't. then as i said use the focusrite asio driver to record your guitar.
you can use MME for playback but for recording its virtually useless due to latency. WAS is a better choice but the ASIO driver for your selected interface is always the best.

The Focusrite have pretty good low-latency ASIO drivers. I used them before I got the MOLTU (mostly because the software is better.) Use ASIO when possible.

Bob,
I have downloaded and installed Cakewalk, but cannot seem to find the TTS-1 installed at the same time. Is there another website, or method to install the Roland TTS-1?
