I found a thread I was replying to in 2019 that has the answer to an extent. I will paste an edited even easier to follow version here.

In short: you CAN make BIAB display the Roman Numeral Notation with relation to minor keys. Just do this:

Go to "Option" menu
Select "Preferences"
Click on the "Display" button.
UNCHECK "[ ] For Roman Numerals of Chords in minor keys, use relative major"

However, one issue remains: we must still enter the correct chord root and quality, i.e., sharp, flat, minor, major, diminished. BIAB does not "calculate" the chords for the selected key. If you just type "i" you get "D" in D minor.

You need to type "im" to get the actual "Dm". It would be nice if BIAB was able to calculate the chords for a given selected key - or at least have an option to do that. This leads me to a more advanced question:

Does BIAB2020 have an option that can "calculate" the chords based on the roman numeral notation of a given key, automatically?
