FYI, I think my problem is that I had purposefully cut out a portion of the track (i.e. to remove some notes of the piano coming in). If there was silence in the RealTrack part, it still would have showed up on the track as content and that silence would have been exported. I think it's because there was no track data on account of my cut that caused it to not start off with silence.
