Fabulous change where the backing breaks loose and it starts to truck along.

The usual thoughtful lyrics and superb vocals.

Listened first on the JBLs with the Cambridge Sub-woofer - sounded great but might have lifted the bass
by a db, even with the sub running. Then I tried it on the Sennheisers - again, a great mix but the bass
might have been a bit light in places. Some of the higher bass notes were fine but the low notes were getting
lost in the mix. Finally and in your honour, I booted up the big Tannoys, turned it up, and everything came
out loud and strong. It just shows that you can't mix for every eventuality. Maybe a bit more compression on
the bass do you think?

Anyway, these are minor things and you know I can be picky sometimes.
Basically, it's a great song and I thoroughly enjoyed it. (As usual, I won't mention the solo.)

Cheers,
ROG.

ROG - thanks! I appreciate the notes on the bass sound. I layered several bass sounds to get the low end - including the BIAB bass patches and a synth bass (programmed) - sometimes 2 of those... So mixing for the bass sound was a bit more complicated than usual...Being keenly aware of all the different parts that made up the Bass, I might have been oversensitive to not letting it get too bottom-end-heavy - it can be a fine balance, especially in producing something to have a "contemporary" sound (it is really easy to get them too bass-y).

I know it’s a country song, but for some reason this reminded of a Bruce Springsteen tune—just could hear him doing a Springsteen-esque version of this. Loved my listen!

All my best to you,

Thanks, Deej! I've always been as big a Springsteen fan as I am a Country Music fan, so that combination is bound to get mixed in on occasion.
