wont the following idea work for you ?
1. set up a folder called "bb song templates".
2. think about your typical ways you work and your preferences.
so lets say some songs of yours are 64 bars but the occasional one is 128 bars ie longer..therefore in the song templates folder.....
3. two templates. one named "BB64X1" other named "BB128X1"...so
4. when you intend to start a new song just go to your templates folder and use the relevent template. and its already set up with all your preferences.
5. you could extend the idea with templates for example preferred styles/keys/tempos/RT's etc already set up as a template ?
OR as an example in my case i'm often looking for golden nugget rock solos. so i might have a template labelled "ROKSOLOS95X1". for a 95 bar rok song.
and i use that template to flush out solos and not disturb my other songs.

generally i find blank templates usefull cos it means i dont have to keep on setting up my preferences all the time. cos the templates include all my preset settings
made in advance.
