To connect a MIDI keyboard, go to Options | MIDI Input/Output Ports. The very top, MIDI In drop down menu should be the name of your MIDI device. Then select the Bass and choose "MIDI Plugins", then click <-- Set All Ports To This and click OK.
This should make it so that Band-in-a-Box uses your MIDi device as an input for recording. If this does not work, please let us know and we can try other troubleshooting steps.
