All data collection is opt-in voluntary. The program checks for updates and reports crashes. MUSE may have wanted to collect and sell data but apparently has abandoned that idea.

Many programs collect data on an opt-in basis to check for updates or as part of a crash report. It's really nothing new, only that Audacity has joined the club.
