When I go to my mobile harddrive all my bb music has the windows media player icon.
I know to right click the icon and choose OPEN WITH> browse, but which icon do I choose in the bb folder to get the file to open at biab.
Also the Powertracks has the same problem, again which icon in PT please?

Thank to both above, BTW do you know how to stop that WMP pinching it back again, I checked the box only use PT & BB but I think from memory Mickey pinches anything he can get his hands on.

It doesn't make sense that WMP would hijack .mgu or .sgu files since it has no clue what those are. Now if you have wav, mp3, or wma it makes sense. I don't know what version of Windows or WMP you have. Look in your WMP Tools menu. There may be a screen to make the file associations. I would still doubt that the mgu or sgu files would be there though.

WMP will hijack Midi files. If you can't find the option in the WMP menus, I can tell you that Vista has this in the Control Panel - Default Programs. Something called Associate a file type...

Whatever version of Windows you have, just go to Windows help and type in "file associations" and read all about it. It's no big thing. What happened is somewhere along the line you installed some music related software and one of the check boxes that you overlooked was one that says something like "make Windows Media Player your default midi player?" and you either said yes or it was already checked and you didn't uncheck it. Easy to fix, though. When you find where to make that change, you will have a list of programs and make PT your default midi player.

Devon, this is no problem, did you not do what I told you to do? Click on "Start" in your taskbar, then click on "help and support" then type in "file associations" and follow the instructions.

Thanks Bob, I missed that post somehow, I think the mail notification system to me was confusing and I only saw the Rachel reply.

So on my way with that advice.
