Whatever version of Windows you have, just go to Windows help and type in "file associations" and read all about it. It's no big thing. What happened is somewhere along the line you installed some music related software and one of the check boxes that you overlooked was one that says something like "make Windows Media Player your default midi player?" and you either said yes or it was already checked and you didn't uncheck it. Easy to fix, though. When you find where to make that change, you will have a list of programs and make PT your default midi player.
