What happens when you press the Kontakt MIDI Panic button. The “!” Symbol on the top right hand side of Kontakt. Does this stop the “feedback”. What channel are you using. It is very possible to confuse Kontakt by having a patch that allows multiple channels open with a mysterious note set on a channel not actually used. This signal may not be receiving a note off. Pushing the panic button will turn the note off, however, it will recur. Use Kontakt to determine what channels are coming in and set the patch to the required channel.
I’ve had several strange things happen in Kontakt usually fixed by ensuring the channel coming in is what the patch is set to.
Just a thought.
Tony Nothing happens in Kontakt when pressing the panic button. It's not a MIDI problem... No stuck notes, it's an audio problem.

I have switched the driver to MME but in this mode the audio momentarily stops, for only a few milliseconds, whenever I click on many sections of BIAB. If I try to adjust the volume on instruments in the mixer, the sound gets interrupted, the same if I click the notation button or click on the chord charts I can confirm that. A short blink of the audio. I actually did not noticed until you mentioned it. However, when I removed Kontakt, I still was hearing that "blink" when I moved windows around during playing. This is a new observation for me and I will move this specific item to a new thread as it is not related to the "audio feedback topic". Thanks for confirming this, Dan. Hey! Do we get paid for running troubleshooting for PG Music? Free labour...

biab-user ok.if your getting that performance in reaps, nice rig ! (i'm a reaps user btw for years..) your processor on cpu benchmark rates high...10600. ...GOOD. just some shots in the dark. 1. do you have reaps open while working !n biab ? not sure bout that aspect. 2. is there any chance the xr mixer ..and ive seen this before with usb audio mixers... and feedback loops... you might be getting some sorta feedback loop with the output from biab coming back into the mixer.. then back out again ? ie maybe a routing issue ? so the sound coming back into the xr is going round and round ? nice reaps performance. nice stats from rb too btw.
my betting..and i might get egg on my face ..lol... is its something to do with the xr usb mixer routing returns from pc. best om

Hey! Do we get paid for running troubleshooting for PG Music? Free labour... frown smile Good question. I can only answer for myself. I am recently retired from the day job. Well actually, retired, then back to work, then retired again. So I have been paid for services provided for over 50 years of labor. Time for me now to give back.
BIAB – 2026, Reaper (current), i7-12700F Processor, 32GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM, Motu Audio Express 6x6 - My SoundCloud.

Sorry buddy, that egg is on is way... DUCK!! No, I made sure to run BIAB on it's own. Tried Administrator privilege... no change. I looked at the metering in the XR18, no activity of feedback. Anyway if that was the culprit, it would have happened also when playing any other song without Kontakt. It could be to do with the 64 bit architecture. I tried to use BIAB 32 bit but I have failed to locate the 32 bit Kontakt 6 DLL file. I assume it will only work in 64 bit.

happiness. om Consider yourself lucky... it could have been tomatoes... in tins! I have just updated BIAB to Build 840. for some reason the audio spikes because of overload but no feedback. I guess, if the audio is shutting down, there can't be feedbacks. Hell... I have to use MME until this gets solved. Oh, I tried removing the cordless mouse's USB dongle. Didn't help.
