Hello All, I had a recent situation (I think caused by a Windows 10 version update) that required me to reinstall Windows 10.The OS suggested it will retain all programs/apps and files installed, and it appeared to do so. I launched Band in a Box, which prompted me to upgrade my version of Band in a Box, which I did, to the latest version (840 - I am running Audiophile in 64 bit off the PG Music provided drive). I use Mixcraft 9 as my DAW. Now, when I launch the DAW (Run as administrator) and choose Change Instrument, I can then choose category successfully (VSTi instruments), but when I choose (2:25 in the instructional video pasted below) Band in A Box DAW VST Plugin, it pauses briefly, tries to load it, but crashes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad26Z8JCGd8&t=124sThis also happens when I open the file of a previously-created composition that has Band in A box already selected as a plug in. Any suggestions? Mixcraft re-install? Band in a Box re-install? Tom Marvan.

That video is over two years old using version 1 of the BIAB-VST. So we are talking about BIAB-VST V3 for 2021, right? Exactly when did the problem originate?
Sorry, I don't use Mixcraft, but can testify that the BIAB-VST is working fine in current versions including Win10 (big update just the other day) and with Reaper.

Thank you for your reply.
The video was to illustrate the steps I take to initiate the plugin, as directed by PG, and is still valid today I believe. I am currently using the latest full on, top of the line of Mixcraft and Band in A Box versions, not to mention a GE66 Raider MSI 10th Gen Core i7 laptop, with dedicated NVIDIA 8GB GDDR6 video card, 32GB DDR4 RAM and a 1TB SSD HD.
All was working fine with the same versions, same software, everything, until recently, when Windows apparently did a background upgrade (which also hosed my network printers in my office).
At least, that is what I suspect it is - the big Win OS update.
In my case now, when I create a new VST track or select a current, previously-functioning track, then choose Band in A Box as the VST, it crashes Mixcraft.

OK. I would like to see Simon (PGMusic) weigh in on this comment to confirm for you. He stops in on occasion. Only the BIAB-VST acting up? No other VST's or music apps? You know you can run the BIAB-VST as a standalone just to see if it is impacted (there is an .exe file for this). If other's are messed up, you may want to do a quick refresh of your audio device drivers.

Hello All,
I just wanted to report that my issue was fixed after a simple, run of the mill Band In a Box software update a few weeks after my last post. Thank you for all those that provided feedback.

(upon further research, it was the Band-in-a-Box® Version 2021 Update - Build 842 (Sept 3 2021) update). And I see there is a new one today! (Oct 15, 2021).
