My i5 chip is most likely in the older generation. The machine is easily 12+ years old at this point. I think it was commissioned for duty in 2008. I built it from the specs on a custom DAW building web site. I chose the i5 Intel chip for it's performance specs and price vs the i7 that was also available and not wanting to go with the i3.

It's actually a quad core and can run 64bits if I was to upgrade the OS. But, it's not hindering my process, so I shall use it as is until it dies.
