I have had version 294 of BIAB (MME) running over several weeks without any problems together with Sonar (ASIO) through the UA-4FX interface. I decided today to update to BIAB version 295 and found that BIAB does not provide output to the UA-4FX with ver. 295. All known methods for a possible fix have been tried (reboot, Back to Factory etc) and none work. Note that Vista sound, Sonar and RealBand audio worked fine however.
So just in case anybody out there has the same setup as mine - stay with Ver 294 until there is a fix. Of course it appears all other systems are happily using ver 295.
Unfortunately BIAB version 294 no longer appears in the PGMusic update list but I did have it saved on a USB stick. Re-loading BIAB 2010 and updating to ver. 294 , BIAB works fine now.
One strange thing in the current working 294 version is that in the midi/audio driver setup.menu, I have Coyote as the synth set but in the output list:-

The Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth is highlighted not the UA-4FX. (If I try to highlight the UA-4FX and click OK I get a white screen crash – and no, clicking the x does not work in this case). But despite this MS synth setting I’m getting output through the UA-4FX.!?
Well it all works so I’ll leave it as is until a known fix update comes along.

Yes, that's normal. The DXi synth is routed through your audio driver, not the MIDI driver. The MIDI driver is still used in special cases, like for thru playback when using MME. The UA-fX MIDI Output Driver is referring to the MIDI Out port on the UA-4FX, which you could connect up to an external hardware MIDI synth.

That's strange. I'm not sure why that would be. If you need a previous build of bbw.exe in the future, note that you can find it in the bb2010_backup folder. You can find out what build it is by hovering your mouse over it. You would need to rename it to bbw.exe and copy it into the main bb folder.

Thought I'd give it another shot with ver 295. It works OK now.
Now I'm the one who can't quite understand what went wrong before.
I only remember vaugely that perhaps the UA-4FX was highlighted on the output with the previous attempt. ( the highlight is now sitting on the MS midi out)
Would that have been a cause??
