"Children Heed the Revelation"

Verse 1
He's coming back on a cloud
On a white horse He will ride
He's coming back for God's children
He's coming back for His bride
Every eye will see His glory
Every mouth will confess
Every knee will bow before Him
All behold His righteousness
Ohhhh Ohhhh
All behold His righteousness

Selah!

Chorus
Children heed the Revelation
Oh and listen to His word
What He's spoken is the truth
And it's high time we heard
What He's spoken is the truth
And it's high time we heard

Verse 2
He was as a lamb the first time he came
He who was sinless made sin for all of us
He'll be as a lion coming back again
Clothed in a robe scarlet with blood
On that day, everyone who pierced Him
Will mourn for Him as an only son
So shall it be Amen
Faithful and True it will be done
Ohhhh Ohhhh
Faithful and True it will be done

Chorus
Children heed the Revelation
Oh and listen to His word
What He's spoken is the truth
And it's high time we heard
What He's spoken is the truth
And It's high time we heard

Solo

Chorus
Children heed the Revelation
Oh and listen to His word
What He's spoken is the truth
And it's high time we heard
What He's spoken is the truth
And It's high time we heard

Chorus
Children heed the Revelation
Oh and listen to His word
What He's spoken is the truth
And it's high time we heard
What He's spoken is the truth
And It's high time we heard

It's time to Shema...

I don't listen to as much Christian rock as I used to. I thought you did a fine job putting this together and really belted that vocal right in the pocket. It's a little long for me at 5:26 but that's not unusual for the genre.

Good song. Good message too.

I listened on good earbuds. The music balance sounds good.

Oldmuso made a good point above about the fx on the kit and vox.

It sounds like you treated the drums with reverb and didn't use it on the rest of the band. My suggestion is to remove it from the drums or at least back it off. Perhaps treat the entire mix with a very light verb to add some overall wetness and cohesion. The drums are out there on their own so to speak. My way to do this is to leave the band mostly dry and add the verb in the final master buss. Bring it up until I can hear it and then back it off 10% or more until it "disappears" from the mix. Trust me, it's still there adding that atmosphere at the mostly right level.

Vocals.... They could stand to come up, and they sound sonically disconnected in that they seem to have that same kind of "different" verb from the rest of the mix. I don't know if it's the verb or EQ settings, but they also sound a bit high end bright to my old ears. Both issues are easy fixes with the verb and EQ.

Length... yeah it's long but this genre tends to be long-winded anyway, so there's not a big problem with the run time.

All in all, a good song with a few easy tweeks away from being really good.

You're certainly committed to the presentation.
The use of Old Testament stories is interesting.
I'm not sure children are familiar or can relate to the Old Book and they'd certainly be confused about the Bride.
I thought the music was going to lift off into another level of intensity OR relief at 3.03 but neither came.
You might consider a dynamic change - tempo or key - to carry the listener through the 2nd half as it's a long song - I gave up when the guitar solo petered out - I took it as a sign and skipped to the ending.

Cheers

Hi Bawb,

Lots of love and optimism in your song. Your lyrics testify to this. The whole is very pleasant. Your very withdrawn voice might deserve to be more prominent. A detail. Well done.
