Hamlin Underground ” is my latest wind controller practice song. I’m learning new things about it everyday. This is basically a jam session with myself.

This song started in BaiB using the JBBR_BS Med. Tempo funk w/slap bass style, all midi. The slap bass and the drums are straight from BiaB with some slight modifications. The B3 is half BiaB, slightly modified, and half my keyboard playing. Everything else is me. All the horns are from the Garritan Aria Player that came with the EWI-USB.

I hope you like it for what it is.

This one must really suck; three days and no hits!

I may have to go back and revisit this one.

Hey, Mario! I liked it. Experimenting is the best part about music and Band in a Box. Was the drums, organ from BB or keyboard?

Hey Mario,

This one slipped by me! It's excellent, really excellent. If I was the kind of teacher who gave out gold stars, you'd sure be getting a few for this effort. Your song is inventive, creative, superbly performed and magnificently mixed. I'm on my third listen now and tapping my foot along

All the best,
Noel

Thanx J. for listening.

Yep BiaB is perfect for experimenting and practicing!

The drums were straight from BiaB. All I did was some very slight modifications to match the music. Some of the organ is from BiaB, again with some modifications, and some is my playing.

I’m pleased that you liked it.

Hi Mario,

I've been out of town for the past week, so I'm just catching up on what I missed while I've been gone. Please forgive the long response delay.

What you're doing here sounds very creative to me. I especially like that you are playing many of the parts yourself. Makes me want to go out and buy a wind controller, except that would be one more piece of gear I don't have time to play with. Sounds like you have time, though... what you're doing is much more than practice exercises!

You inspire me to spend more time experimenting! Keep posting the results of your experimentation!

Mario,

I can hear the improvements with each new posting. In fact the first thing I noticed in this effort as opposed to some of your earlier wind controller efforts is the vibrato is cleaner and more pronounced, yet not over done but is where it is supposed to be on each note.

Stick with it Mario you are making nice progress.

Later,

Hi MarioD,

This is not really my cup of tea (hope you understand that saying)

But I have to say that your musical talent is very good.

Just thought I'd say.

Regards
michee

Thanx all for the very kind words of encouragement.

Pat Marr – I do not have a lot of time for practicing right now. I used to play trumpet so the fingering on the EWI isn’t that strange to me. But no these are just practice pieces of music.

Danny – I’m slowly learning. I don’t have a lot of practice time and my mind (and body) are slower than molasses.

Michee – Thanx and yes I know what “not my cup of tea” means. That makes your comment even more impressive to me.

Mario,

Yep - I liked it. It kind of reminded me of background music to a cinema in the 80's. Well - it took me somewhere anyways - just not sure where I was - and I haven't even had any adult beverages tonight - but I listened twice - it was such a good place to be.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Mario,
An interesting composition with real possibilities - like the bass riff throughout and interesting patterns. Some nice playing also. I did not care so much for the ending - waiting for it to continue. I enjoyed it and thanks.
