User John Temmerman has repeatably stated he is not comfortable opening the external drive case. That should be the end of that discussion. He should not have to repeat multiple times that he has reached the limit of his troubleshooting capability.

There are multiple reasons why John is not comfortable opening the external hard drive case. Perhaps his eyesight is bad. Perhaps he is a stroke victim and is impaired. Perhaps he has arthritis and has difficulty handling objects. He may not have a screwdriver with a Phillip's bit small enough to fit into the heads of the teeny, tiny screws. The reason why shouldn't matter.

I concur. While we on the forums are generally a techy bunch, not everyone is. The non-techy people shouldn't be pushed out of their comfort zone (too much).

I've got a support session scheduled for Wednesday with John, so I'll be doing some further testing on the drive.
