This request would require more attention to the MIDI side, and that does not appear to be the direction BIAB has been taking. Perhaps the new MIDI standard will spur some development.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
With all the MidiSuperTracks you should be able to snap them to any chord/scale other than what they were recorded to. With RapidComposer I can drop a MidiSuperTrack phrase into it and it will refit it to any chord/scale, it's high time Biab can be made to do this along with having an option to snap notes in the Piano Roll to chord/scale marked by colors.
Likewise the same could be done with RealTracks if PG did a deal with Celemony (Melodyne) so it could be integrated into Biab to work with the RealTracks only during the generate process, not any user added audio track, this way they would still need to purchase Melodyne proper for this.
Funny thing is: as Pipeline says, there is already a possibility to alter audio and force it to play other chord changes. On Youtube there are some memes where they alter a pop song with the Giant Steps (Coltrane’s cyclic harmony tune) changes. It’s not perfect, but still…
But, as Dan points out, Scaler does this already to midi (without the flexibility, the gui, the arrangement possibilities or the on screen notation of the melody of Band in a Box) and that does a perfect job. Same as RapidComposer.
And then Matt reminds us that MIDI is not Pgmusic’s direction.
All the while noticing the great Toontrack system, that’s midi and sounds wonderful.
So, a lot of companies already offer a superior algorithm for harmony in MiDI, but lack the easier arrangement structure of Biab. Are we the only ones who see the obvious?
Biab, Kontakt, Sampletank and lots of nice libraries, from Fluffy audio to Abbey Road drums. Check out these great contemporary Jazz Styles: www.jazzstylezz.com
With the RealCharts, the piano ones are from the Yamaha acoustic/digital so you get the actual playing. I remember saying years ago to have midi pickups on the other instruments like Drums, Bass, Guitars etc.. to give the actual playing in the midi. As it is now with the Guitar RealCharts it's using Control 85 to represent the articulations in the notation. I remember suggesting way back an option to convert the control messages to actual midi articulations, but thinking about it now I can do that in Reaper with a script, though having it for Biab user would be better. You have UJAM virtual instruments now that follow Studio One chord track, Toontrack may go that way also (hopefully the BBPlugin will have that soon). Yes, it used to be "Look Ma No MIDI" now MidiSuperTracks, so how about some guitars, flutes, sax and anything else with a midi pickup.
It does sound like an interesting idea to have chord detection with a software input instead of a MIDI hardware input. We will pass this along to the development team for consideration.
If you enabled a 'held note' function on the Big Piano window, then accepted the notes there into MIDI Chord Detection, that would do it.

Couldn't Biab create the notes "intelligently" by using the Playable RealTrack samples ??? and allow custom user chords ??
I tried adding the notes manually and it's sounded perfect using the RT sample set. Short of exporting to Reaper and using Melodyne or doing a deal with Celemony to include Melodyne within Biab internally, this works. Obviously RealTracks can't be recorded with all the chords listed that Biab “recognizes”. How else would this forever recurring issue ever be solved ?
If Playable RealTracks were shown how they could work years n years ago but were only just implemented recently with users amazed that "PG" worked out how to do it as they didn't think it was possible. Will this be another example suggested here that too will be implemented years down the track ??
RapidCompser is adding the chord note to the phrase below and allows users chords to be added to the library.
See how other companies did that after it was suggested here, with their RealTrack instruments that have all the pre-recorded chord playing phrases but also lets you add notes, so you can drag export a phrases as midi, add notes to it to get the chords or solo you want.
"Virtual Guitarist SPARKLE 2 is your session specialist for chords, octaves and single note electric guitar riffs. A true team player that doesn’t hog the limelight, supporting your songs with just the right amount of swagger and style."
The Bass one will play phrases over the chord track and instrument mode for custom riffs with keyswitch articulations also.
Same deal with their Drums plugin phrase mode and instrument mode.
