You have to make the tracks normal; there's a menu item for that. Otherwise, RB reserves the first 9 tracks as "BIAB" tracks. So, when you click generate, it generates a band-in-a-box arrangement based on the currently selected style, currently defined bars for the song, and current chord grid. That's where the extra tracks are coming from.
