If you are cutting/pasting you can quantize it then when you have it how you like you can advance it. So, we are talking about actually altering the audio of the performances, altering the timings, NOT because it sounds better, but to make it easier to cut and paste? This strikes me as like having a photographic filter that aligns all the objects in the image to a grid, to make it easier to move them around later. Unless the quantization is temporary and "non-destructive", functioning only to modify the behavior of selection tools?
