Hello,
I currently use the BIAB sheet /notation editor but find it mighty tedious at times.
What other sheet music editors / processor would you recommend?
Preferably free of course if possible as I am not a commercial user.
I would much like to be able to import any output from such an editor into BIAB.

Another big + for Musescore!
OK, a random thought;
Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

MuseScore is free.
The printouts use a newly remodeled font that looks great.
One more thing that NO other notation program has to my knowledge: MuseScore will read a BIAB .MGU file directly.

Directly yes, but last time I checked not correctly.

I agree that MuseScore seems to be favorite.

I have better luck saving as a Music XML file, and opening that.

Just loaded a .mgu file from BIAB into Musicscore. The lead sheet was incorrectly entirely whole notes. Pushed a few buttons and then Musicscore crashed. Been like this since V3.0 was launched.

Dan, I generally export the melody and harmony only, as MIDI, into another music notation program. I then use Music XML for any further transfer. I have not attempted to use MuseScore to load a BIAB song in many years.
Do you have version 4? I wonder if that improved things? That version gave us a much better font.
Have you reported specific results to Support?

Hi,
depending on my intentions I use different programs.
Hi-end: Dorico (Elements) not free
Sometimes: Muse Score (sometimes too complicated to use) free
Doing quick and easy work with easy and good results: EasyABC (free).
uses abc-Notation (irish folkies know this), a little more work to install, but a very easy way to keep "books" with own songs.

I have great luck using xml exported files in Musescore. It is very easy to use which is also a plus.
My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.
