Welcome to the forum. There is a 'best way' but it may not help you with this particular project at this point.

The best way to move back to an earlier rendition of a BIAB project is to do 'Save as' saves of your project every stage prior to making big additions, edits, chord changes, adding additional tracks, etc. This will create multiple SGU files of your project at the specific stage of the song project at that moment. SGU files are very small so disk space will never be an issue and clearly naming these saves in a manner where they are organized so you will instantly know by the descriptive name, where they fit into your main project.
